The front page is for sending something quickly. My Files is your own private space, with everything you've uploaded, all your folders and every share link you've made, in one place. You need a free account to use it.

In short

  • Everything you've uploaded, your folders and your share links in one place
  • Sort files into folders, search, and switch between a list and a grid
  • Give a file or folder several links, each with its own settings
  • Change or switch off any link at any time
  • Everything is encrypted, names included.

My Files at a glance

Open My Files from the menu. At the top, you can see how much storage you've used and how much you've downloaded today.

Below that are two tabs: Files shows your files and folders, and Share links shows every link you've shared. Anything you send from the front page while you're logged in shows up here too.

Add and organize files

Press Upload to add files or a whole folder, or simply drag them onto the page. Press New folder to make a folder, and double-click a folder to open it.

Right-click a file or folder, or tap the three dots next to it, to Rename, Move to, Download or Delete it. Folders download as a single zip file. You can also drag files straight onto a folder to move them.

Tick the boxes next to several items to download, move or delete them all at once.

Use the search box to find something by name, sort by name, date or size, and switch between a list and a grid with pictures.

Share from My Files

Right-click a file or folder and choose Share. You get the same choices as on the front page, plus a few more, like Who can open it. Press Create link and the link is copied for you.

A file or folder can have several links, each with its own settings. For example, one that don't expire for your family, and one for a colleague that stops working tomorrow.

When you share a folder, the link includes everything in it, even files you add later. A small link icon shows which items are shared.

Good to know

  • Keep your password and recovery key safe. If you lose both, nobody can unlock your files, not even us.
  • When you delete a file or folder, all of its links stop working too.
  • Need more room? Paid plans come with more storage.
  • Want others to add files to one of your folders? Read how to collaborate on shared folders.
