Send files securely and easily.

Files are encrypted in your browser before it's ever uploaded. No accounts needed, no tracking and no ads.

Built for privacy

End-to-end encryption

Files are encrypted with AES-256-GCM in your browser, before the file leaves your device.

Zero-knowledge

The decryption key never reaches our servers in a usable form. Depending on if you're logged in or not, the key is either locked with your accounts password or stays client-side in the URL fragment.

Self destructing files

Set a file to expire after set time, or after a number of downloads.

No account needed

You'll never need to create an account, unless you need higher limits or want to buy a plan.

Limited data collection

Only data needed to run the service is collected. We don't sell your data or use it for tracking.

Watch what happens when you upload a file

The animation simulates what happens when you upload a file. The file is encrypted in your browser, then uploaded to the server. The server never sees the unencrypted file, or the key in a usable form.

Frequently asked

Yes, VeilShare can be used completely free. It is free because I wanted a simple way to share files without needing to create an account or uploading your sensitive data to another service that tracks you and show you ads.

I only make money from people buying plans. The service is meant to be free for anyone who wants it without needing to pay. Paying is only for those who want to support the project or need higher limits.

No. You can upload, share, and download files without ever signing up.

Creating an account is entirely optional. It's there for people who want to:

  • Buy a plan for more storage space
  • Manage uploaded files for easier access

You shouldn't blindly trust anything on the internet.

However, you could open DevTools in your browser. You will see:

  • Only encrypted file data is sent to the server
  • No raw encryption key is transmitted

The limits for a non logged-in user are:

  • Up to 3 GB stored at once, freed up again once a file expires or is deleted
  • Up to 25 GB daily download

Logged-in users have higher limits based on their plan. You can view limits on the plans page.

You primarily get more storage space and higher daily download limits. You can read more here.

It is paid once with Bitcoin. No recurring subscription, so you're never auto-charged. When the period runs out, your account simply reverts to the free limits.

You can top-up or upgrade any time. When you upgrade, your remaining time is converted into bonus credit on the new plan. No need to wait it out first.

We simply don't wanna handle more sensitive information than needed. Even using thrid-parties for handling payment information such as credit cards, could result in that provider having a data breach.

This project is built on the goal of a private, yet simple way to share files, without giving up your credit card or something alike. Even tho Bitcoin and most other cryptocurrencies aren't completely anonymous, it is definitely more privacy respecting than traditional fiat payment methods.

We currently don't natively support payments in other cryptocurrencies than Bitcoin. However, if you'd prefer to pay with another cryptocurrency, feel free to email us. We'll see if we can work something out, although we can't guarantee that we'll be able to accept it.
